“WHITE ZONE” programme TO COVER BLIND SPOTS
Bouygues Telecom is committed to making mobile phone coverage available to the largest possible number of people, joining France’s two other mobile operators in a vast programme to cover blinds spots (known as the “white zone” programme). This programme aims to let people in even remote towns and areas make and receive calls, regardless of which operator they choose.
Each of the three operators is committed to covering one-third of these “white zone” areas. The principle is simple: when you use your phone to make or receive calls in one of these areas, your phone is automatically connected to the network of the operator responsible for the zone. Initial service within the framework of this programme was launched in early 2004.
